Alan and Morag - Owners of Allers Farm Kennels (by the staff)
Alan and Morag have been in the kennel industry for over 20 years and have a continual policy of improvement in all aspects of animal care and welfare. Their warm and welcoming manner always puts our customers at ease knowing their pets will be well looked after during their stay.
All of the staff enjoy working here and although it is a business it has a family atmosphere, we all feel like an important part of the business as everyone's opinions and suggestions count.
Linda is the longest serving member of staff and was formerly a customer whose dog was boarded here while she went to work. After early retirement Linda worked as a kennel assistant for 2 years and is now the office manager, keeping track of bookings and orders insuring that there are no problems when you book your pet into the kennels. Linda is a keen dog lover and she has a Springer Spaniel Cass and a Border Terrier X called Gyp. Cass and Gyp always enjoy their time at the kennels when they come to stay, even if its just a quick visit to KUTZ for a wash after a run through the muddy fields.
Jen has worked at Allers Farm Kennels since 2008 and originally joined the team in the role of hydrotherapist. She was promoted in 2010 and she now holds the position of Kennels Manager. She is qualified to HND level in animal care and management and holds certificates in Canine Hydrotherapy. Jen is now responsible for the day to day running of the kennels. Early in 2011 a Cocker Spaniel called Cindy came to the kennels and was in a bad way due to her owner being unwell and unable to take care of her. After a month, her owner sadly passed away and Jen decided to take on as her own. Jen lives on site and is on hand for the times Alan and Morag go on their travels. Cindy now has 2 new friends... 2 cats called Oran and Alfie.
Sandra started work at the kennels in 2007 as a kennel assistant although she had no previous experience working with animals other than her own cats and dogs. She has now become a valued member of staff and nothing is too much trouble for her. She is very caring and hardworking and will make sure your pets stay is a good one. in early 2015 Sandra rescued a Bulldog, now named Daisy who after a short stay in our kennels went home to live alongside her Golden Retriever Monty and her 2 Cats.
Kayleigh joined the team in 2011, her little dog Cleo a KC Spaniel cross often comes into the kennels while Kayleigh is at work. Cleo keeps fit with a dip in the pool from time to time. Kayleigh's caring manner and attitude to work is a great benefit to the team, she works very well with the cats and dogs and also has a keen interest in dog training.
Linda was a customer for a few years before she joined the team in 2012. Linda's enthusiastic attitude to work and care for the animals makes her an asset to the team. Her Sprocker spaniel Bailey was a regular visitor before she started working at the kennels and is always very happy to get a bit of time in the pool, Linda rescued Buddy a Yorkshire Terrier in 2014 when his owner could no longer care for him, he is not so keen on having a swim but loves a pamper in Kutz.
Danielle started in 2010 before she left school. She is at Glasgow University studying to become a vet. Danielle works in the kennels but often helps out in the hydrotherapy pool. Danielle has 2 dogs Oscar a Collie cross and Fergus a Labrador cross. both love to come up for a swim and a pamper. Danielle has a very caring way with the animals and is sure to make an excellent vet when she qualifies.
Kerrie joined us in May 2016 for our busy summer season, due to her hardworking and friendly approach to her work she has remained with us. Kerrie has Lyra the ferret, Roxy the Staffy and Hogan German Shepherd and we cant forget about Mouse the cat! Kerrie loves working with all the large dogs that come into stay with us but we always catch her snuggled up in a kennel with the some fluffy ones!
